Group B
Monday, 7.45pm
Austria v Germany

Reasons to be cheerful:

- Austria still have the chance to get through, and it's all thanks to our very own Howard Webb
- For those who are anti-German, you'll be entertained to know that if Joachim Low's side lose tonight they'll be the first ever team to fail to progress past the Group stages in three successive Euro tournaments.

Reasons to be fearful:

- If you're punting heavily on Austria to win, you should be advised that the last time they beat Germany I was an 8-year-old buying Sherbert Dib-Dabs and Communards records.
- Austria and Germany have a long history, though most of it revolves around a guy with a tash

Open Goal Hysteria Hunch:

There should be no games that aren't exciting at this stage, and with the prospect both hosts, plus the current holders, exiting the tournament in the first two weeks, Austria will be going all-in on victory. Of course, that doesn't mean to say they'll get it .. they probably won't, but it'll be damn fine entertainment watching the world's 92nd best
team try.

We predict (out of 10): 7 yodels.
