Paul 'Healdy' Heald is possibly best remembered for having his mittens roasted by a Tony Yeboah scorcher at Selhurst Park in 1995 when playing for Wimbledon, but for two matches at the end of the 92/93 season he strutted his stuff in between the sticks at Highfield Road - it's true. Kind of like the modern-day Steve Harper, Heald spent much of his time osmosing his buttocks with the substitute's bench in a career that took in seven different clubs over 18 years. Indeed, remove the seven years he spent at Leyton Orient, and he clocked up 44 first-team starts in 11 seasons, or 4 per campaign. As an average, that's even less than John O'Shea, you know. |
