West Brom with no sponsor?
I thought that in
these days of hard-fought commercial
deals, detailed sponsorship packages
and ruthless corporate deadlines they'd
have sorted out all this name-on-shirt
malarkey months ago.
It seems that the Baggies are holding
out for the right offer to come along,
although based on home defeats by the
likes of Everton you'd think they may
be ringing their potential sponsors
back on Monday and biting their hands
off before the price drops even further.
Strange how we have become so conditioned
to writing across the front of shirts
that when we see a footy kit without
one it looks slightly barren, but that's
not to say it's unattractive.
In an uncanny twist of fortune, West
Brom's greed at holding out for top
dollar is actually making them money
in the process, as it seems the sponsor-free
blue and white striped shirt has been
positively flying off the shelves of
the club shop with rumours of record
kits sales.
Who needs sponsors after all?
