"I
am not a number, I'm a free man," bellowed the
Prisoner. Greedy sod, he should have been grateful,
because Coventry City striker Paul Williams is remembered
in the tomes of football folly by just a solitary letter.
Yes, one blessed letter.

PARKER IN CALENDAR CATASTROPHE...
SATURDAY
7th JUNE 2008 |
 |

 |

Paul Parker is
showing an adverse reaction to the excitement
of the European Championships opening
ceremony later today.
Either that or the former Manchester United
and England defender has been hibernating
in a small burrow somewhere.
Speaking of Leicester City's possible
approach for his old buddy Paul Ince,
he scowled:
"I'm surprised it has taken this
long through the summer for someone to
show an interest."
Excuse me? It's June 7th isn't it? We
haven't even had Wimbledon yet - more's
the pity.
PP is obviously a big fan of 'the Guvnor',
though Ince should probably want to stick
around at the MK Dons for a while so as
not to find himself tarred with the same
brush as former United teammate Steve
Bruce.
Everyone's favourite murder
mystery novelist was hardly the best man
to give team talks on dedication and loyalty
after landing his fifth managerial role
in three years when he rocked up at Birmingham
City in 2001. And his departure from Brum
hardly left the locals toasting the Brown
Ale.
Mind you, that might have had more to
do with the fact he didn't take Liam Ridgewell
with him...
