"I
am not a number, I'm a free man," bellowed the
Prisoner. Greedy sod, he should have been grateful,
because Coventry City striker Paul Williams is remembered
in the tomes of football folly by just a solitary letter.
Yes, one blessed letter.

David
Healy getting an MBE? Stroll on!
This is the guy who couldn't even get
in the Fulham team last season, and was
one of Lawrie Sanzhez's famous Northern
Ireland recruits who escalated the Cottagers
to 19th in the Premier League for much
of last season.
I'm all for average footballers getting
a mention - that's what ITV's coverage
of the Championship is for, surely, but
Healy?
True, his 13-goal haul in
the Euro qualifying campaign was a fine
achievement - indeed, it even prompted
a visit from Michel Platini in March -
but it seems the Queen is lowering her
standards a tad, particularly when you
look at some of the other sporting giants
who have letters after their name - the
likes of Paul Elliot, Alan Knight, and
even Ian Bell!
If Liz carries on at this rate I might
well be up for an award myself for producing
consistently sub-standard Open Goal diary
entries. Like this one.
