AROUND THE CLUBS - FULHAM
TUESDAY 4th MARCH 2008

Can Man Utd have had any easier games this year? They rested Rooney and Ronaldo, sat back and enjoyed a nice afternoon by the Thames. Owen Hargreaves scored with a nice free kick, Park Ji Sung with a towering header (don't ask!), and Simon Davies added a third with an unfortunate own goal.

For the men in white it was always going to be about damage limitation and getting away without a slaughter might be worth something, but where was the fight (apart from Konchesky hurling Nani into the advertising boards)? Where was the determination? We look lost, relegated already, and it's miserable to see.

Next week we go to Blackburn and once again can expect nothing. Roy Hodgson's plan A has typically involved trying to keep games tight, perhaps with the hope of snatching something from a set piece or on the break, but it doesn't seem to be working. A number of us are now wondering if we shouldn't just go for it, play 4-2-4 or something stupid like that and see if we can't rustle up a couple of 6-5 wins. Nothing else has worked.
